Choose the right pinch roller and knurl wheel and install them onto the roll grooving machine.
Put the pipe on the knurl wheel and pipe stands.
The pipe stands should be placed at the position of 3/4 length of pipe. Then adjust the pipe stands height to make sure the pipe are 1 degree lower than the horizantal level.
Tighten the relief valve, shake the hydraulic pump handle, let the pinch roller going downward until it touch the surface of pipe end. Rotate the limit nut down, make it contact with the oil pump top frame. Check the correct data of groove depth for different diameter pipes in the chart. For instance, if we roll groove on a 8 inch pipe, the depth will be 2.34mm. Calculate from the red start line, rotate the limit nut 2.34mm up, then turn the fastening nut down until it touch the limit nut and fix it. (One circle rotation on the limit nut is equal to 2.5mm) Rotate the side guide wheel to support the pipe. Release the relief valve.
Connect the power plug, turn on the switch to run the machine.
Tighten the relief valve again and pump the handle to start grooving. Continue to swing the handle until the limit nut reach the oil pump top (Please do not swing too fast). Allow the pipe to rotate additional one or two turns to make sure the groove is completed.
At last turn off the switch and release the relief valve knob. Rotate the guide wheel to make it away from the pipe. Remove the pipe and check the groove depth with a pipe groove measuring tape.
